The European Synchrotron (www.esrf.eu) is supported by 22 countries, including Germany, and provides advanced characterisation of materials using the highest intensity synchrotron X-ray beams in the world. Synchrotron light is a flexible, precise and non-destructive probe to learn about material micro-structure and behaviour under operando conditions.
Going far beyond the capabilities of conventional laboratory X-ray sources, we provide very high spatial resolution (2D, 3D), ultra-fast measurements for dynamic processes, high-throughput for long series of samples and under in situ and in operando conditions of manufacturing or end-use.
Our commercial clients use rapid and confidential access, and come from many fields: pharma and biotech, chemistry and catalysis, consumer products, construction and transport engineering, nanotech, energy, environment, metallurgy and advanced materials.
ESRF also welcomes industry and academic users (7,000 every year) via peer review applications for access, as well as in collaboration through European Framework projects.
